die in poverty and wretchedness.
Some of the general principles of financial prosperity that must be carefully and faithfully observed if we must become prosperous in life include, but not limited to the followings:
1. THE PRINCIPLE OF RESPONSIBLE MENTALITY.
This is the principle of accepting responsibility over one’s life and situations; not blaming others over one’s failures and not resigning fate to one’s background, favorable or unfavorable. Most of those who have succeeded today are not majorly those who had everything as they wished. “Today’s winners are not those who have never failed, but those who saw their failures as stepping stones to success.”
2. THE PRINCIPLE OF NOT DESPISING THE DAYS OF LITTLE BEGINNING.
Many people do not make any move in life because they think or believe that:
i. they cannot achieve anything
ii. what they have is not enough for them to start anything
iii. it is not yet time for them to start something
The above principle teaches us to learn to start with what we have and to start now; with other things in place, God can and will turn the nothing into something and the little into much.
3. THE PRINCIPLE OF “BORROW NOT A FEW”—2 Kings 4:2-4;
This is the principle of “once you start do not stop until there is nothing more to do”. Elijah taught the poor widow (in the above text) this principle when he told her to go to her neighbors and borrow many pots. While the principle of “not despising a little beginning” teaches us to start anyhow and with anything; “borrow not a few” teaches us to always make rooms for improvement both in our minds and containers once we have started. You may start with little but be ready to diversify as the results begin to come.
It is the desire and plans of God that we be financially rich. To achieve this however, man must play his parts very effectively—observing the general principles of financial prosperity, among other things. Whenever man’s part meets with God’s part, positive results become natural.
Key Point:
a. The only way to keep growing is by always creating more rooms for growth.
b. A faithful tither who does not observe the general principles for success can still die in poverty and wretchedness.
